MDE Team Wins the “Best Use of AI” Award at MakeHarvard

MakeHarvard, the largest engineering makeathon in the U.S., brings together 100 student innovators for 24 hours of problem-solving and technological breakthroughs. The “Best Use of AI” award went to Team Fortuna (Adrian Kombe, Eric Oh, Barakah Quader, and Haolei Zhang, all MDE ’26) for its interactive exhibit, which used conversational AI, facial emotion tracking, speech, and motion analysis to transform personal reflection into a dynamic visual experience, fostering self-awareness and decision-making.

The 2025 makeathon was held on February 8 and 9, 2025, at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and occurred in partnership with Infosys InStep.
