Gia Jung
Design Critic in Architecture, GSD
Gia Jung is a Technical Lead at Google Earth AI, specializing in the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational design, and spatial technologies.
With extensive experience across Fortune 500 companies and startups, she has pioneered AI-enabled software platforms that transform design processes. Prior to Google, she led research engineering for the North American market at Spacemaker AI (now Autodesk Forma following acquisition), where she developed AI-powered solutions for urban planning. She also worked in research engineering at Delve by Sidewalk Labs (now Earth Design), furthering her expertise in computational approaches to spatial design challenges.
Her expertise bridges industry and academia, having served as Irving Innovation Fellow and Research Associate at Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). At the Laboratory for Design Technologies, her research explored novel applications of machine learning in architectural design, focusing on human-computer interaction and computational methodologies. She also designed curriculum for Design Discovery Virtual and developed innovative learning platforms as part of GSD’s Innovation Task Force.
Gia holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard GSD, where she graduated with the prestigious Digital Design Award for her work integrating AI systems into architectural practice.
