Daeun Yoo (MDE ’24) presents at UNESCO HQ

Daeun Yoo (MDE ’24) presented her Mind Palette project as part of UNESCO’s first Digital Learning Week at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Mind Palette is a digital, art-therapy platform that uses generative AI, and development began in Dauen’s first year as an MDE student. She is further developing the prototype with insight from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) and art therapists, and work will continue throughout 2023 and 2024 as her Independent Design Engineering Project (IDEP).

About Digital Learning Week:

“Digital Learning Week is UNESCO’s new annual flagship event on digital learning and the transformation of education. It convenes international policy-makers, practitioners, educators, private sector partners, researchers and development agencies to jointly respond to the new dynamics around digital innovation, and steer technology for education. Digital Learning Week is the rebooted version of Mobile Learning Week which ran for 10 years.

The inaugural edition of Digital Learning Week focused on public digital learning platforms and generative AI (GenAI), examining how both can be steered to reinforce and enrich humanistic education.” (https://www.unesco.org/en/weeks/digital-learning)
